GEORGE BLOOD LP IS A LEADING PROVIDER OF ARCHIVAL AUDIO AND MOVING IMAGE SERVICES; INCLUDING - DIGITIZING OBSOLETE AND DETERIORATING AUDIO, VIDEO, AND FILM MEDIA, AS WELL AS MIGRATING DATA FROM LEGACY FORMATS.

Each month, George Blood LP re-formats over 20,000 audiovisual media. EXPERIENCE

At George Blood LP, our team of professionals – audio engineers with over 50 Grammy nominations, video engineers from major market broadcasters, Hollywood film colorists, project managers, IT, and information management -- has significant experience in a wide range of historic, obsolete, and damaged audio and video formats – over 163 A/V formats are available for playback.

We maximize playback, capture to the highest preservation standards (some of which we’ve help write!), gather and manage metadata, ensure bit-accurate data delivery, and perform unmatched quality control.

Whether a project is for a major symphony orchestra (our clients include The Philadelphia Orchestra, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra), an oral history (clients include the Museum of Jewish Heritage, the National Park Service, and the Library of Congress), bio-metric research, product development, commercials, or lectures, our decades of experience and reputation is earned every day.

Our expertise is brought into action every day in our transfer studios. We can provide assessment and consultation services for your collections to help evaluate your needs, assess priorities, and consider options (including designing in-house studios, or deciding not to reformat!).

Whether your project is contained in a shoe-box or a trunk, we can help you design and complete your archival audio, video, motion picture film, or computer media project.

For more than 35 years George Blood has been delivering professional audio services to musicians, composers, universities, libraries, corporations, and individual clients, both nationally and internationally. Today, George Blood LP is a thriving company, staffed with exceptional professional engineers, preservationists, and service personnel committed to preserving mankind’s media heritage.

WE EXPECT ZERO RETURNS AND ZERO REWORK OF OUR DELIVERED FILES.

We strive to achieve this in several ways.

  • Our project management database and scripting solutions automate functions, such as item tracking, packing lists, naming (limiting human data entry errors), metadata handling, and the creation of derivative files.

  • Our equipment used in the playback of your media types, and the software used in our audio/video transcoding, is the best in the industry.

  • Our Quality Control process ensures that every file on the delivery medium is opened and auditioned on a different computer to assure readability by the end user. All files are checked at their beginning and end for completeness, and are spot-checked throughout our production process to assure consistency. This process includes validation of all file names and content against cataloging data supplied by the client, and proofreading of all embedded metadata. Every file goes through this meticulous process, and there is never an additional charge for QC.

All of this is done for one reason: We are committed to exceptional quality and exceptional service for your historic media. This reduces your costs during a project. The less rework you have to manage, the more time your staff has for preserving more of your holdings.
